Thank you for this! All I wanted to know if we could use the ip helper-address command on cisco routers when the DHCP server was also a cisco router, and I also wasn't sure exactly what address to specify on the neighbouring routers. I found plenty of other information out there on configuring dhcp relay with that command, but all the examples were using an actual DHCP server (not a router) which had a single static IP address. So in those cases it was easy to work out what ip to put after the ip helper-address command. But in my case I have a router being the dhcp server, connected to 2 other routers on either side, and 6 separate subnets to give dhcp to. It wasn't immediately clear to me what IP to specify when the dhcp router has multiple interfaces to various networks, and which interfaces to use the commands on. Your explanation really cleared all of that up for me and showed it is possible, so thank you!! Got my lab working too all green lights and DHCP working!

Thank you for the tutorial. Just a tip if anyone has trouble in making it works. 10:58 in the newer version of packet tracer 8.2.2, the service-policy command is added already. Proceeding will cause a warning and prevent the policy working, delete it first by putting "no" keyword in the front.

Can you show us how to configure the actual layer3 switch.

This is a good tutorial on BGP but for beginners, it's probably a lot easier to just configure OSPF. I think only advanced class of network engineers would get a chance to tinker with border routers.

The network is /24 and /30 .. How can the network see each other ?

Question is why enabled int vlan 10,20,30 on all the access switches? It could be just vlan 10,20,30 and assigned edge devices but why int vlan 10,20,30 on access switches when we don't assign then ips,????? Any reasons for it? Int vlan 10,20,30 should be defined on layer3 switch but why on access?????

I want to write to other people who will watch this tutorial, don’t watch it - it doesn’t work. This guy glued it together somewhere in the middle and everything works for him. All the other dudes who wrote here were either bought or bots. The real comments that are here also encountered a problem, in the end he sends them to the stolen manual. Conclusion - don't watch.

I have cracked my skull trying to find a solution to why my DHCP request failed in another subnet from the subnet that contains the DHCP server, despite providing the IP helper-address. Now I know that I need to configure the static routing between the networks. And you showed me how to do it with great detail and precision. Thank you ❤😊

I can't ping the dns icmp and http just like other problems that i read in the comment. does anyone tell me whats the problem? or maybe the version of his packet tracer is outdated? coz im using updated maybe thats the reason?

Great video!!! I have noticed that not many people show how to configure the router or the Layer 3 Switch to be a DHCP Server. The only thing that video lacked was showing how to make the L3 Switch to also be the DHC Server of the network

i have question, is it really necessary to enable interface vlan on the access switch that is not in use? Here the management is VLAN 99 and it should be the only activated interface vlan on the remote switches.
